Onboarding Training 2026 Equips New IPB University Lecturers to Be Adaptive and Collaborative
IPB University held the 2026 IPB Employee Onboarding Training as an initial step to equip newly appointed permanent lecturers with an understanding of the university’s values, work culture, and their strategic roles in supporting IPB University’s vision (7/12).
Director of Human Resources of IPB University, Prof Sri Suharti, explained that the onboarding program is not merely a formality but an essential foundation for aligning employees’ character, competence, and professionalism with the vision and mission of IPB University.
“We are not only looking for intelligent individuals, but also those who have integrity, are adaptive, and are ready to collaborate,” she said.
Prof Sri added that the 2026 IPB Employee Onboarding Training is attended by 52 newly appointed permanent lecturers and runs from July 13 to September 3 2026. The program combines classroom learning, workplace habituation under the guidance of mentors, and the preparation of an actualization project as part of strengthening participants competencies.
Opening the program, Vice Rector for Resource Resilience and Infrastructure, Dr Heti Mulyati, emphasized that human resources are the key factor in determining the sustainability and competitiveness of IPB University at both the national and international levels.
According to her, the lecturer recruitment process at IPB University is conducted through a highly selective process because the quality of lecturers will determine the future direction of the institution.
“Recruitment and selection are among the most critical stages in human resource management because the future direction of IPB will be determined through this process,” she said.
Dr Heti stated that the lecturers participating in the onboarding program had successfully passed a rigorous selection process and are expected to further strengthen IPB University’s quality as an internationally reputable university. She stressed that the onboarding program is not merely ceremonial or an administrative requirement, but serves as a foundation for understanding the history, policies, work culture, and values upheld within IPB University.
“Through this onboarding training, we hope you will adapt more quickly and better understand the strategic role of lecturers in carrying out the three pillars of higher education,” she said.
In addition to carrying out the three pillars of higher education, Dr Heti explained that the new lecturers will also be involved in various institutional responsibilities as part of their development as academic professionals. She encouraged all participants to go through every process sincerely while building strong character as resilient educators.
Dr Heti also encouraged the new lecturers to establish professional networks from the beginning of their journey at IPB University. According to her, collaboration across faculties and schools is an important asset for developing multidisciplinary research, community service, and innovations that benefit the nation.
“We hope all of you will get to know one another so that many collaborations will emerge in the future, both in research and community service. The development of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches will become one of IPB University’s greatest strengths,” she concluded. (Ez) (IAAS/ST)
