IPB University Appreciates 107 Retired Employees in 2024

IPB University held a release and appreciation for retired employees in 2024. This activity was held at the IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor (23/12).
In his opening remarks, Prof Arif Satria, Rector of IPB University said, “On behalf of IPB University, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the retired employees who have dedicated themselves so that IPB University can reach this stage.”
According to him, the progress achieved by IPB University is the result of the accumulation of contributions that have been built for a long time, including the contributions of employees who today enter retirement.
“If water drips on a stone, the stone will eventually develop a hole. Actually, it is not the last drop that makes the hole. However, it is the accumulation of water droplets from the beginning, that the success of an institution is the accumulation of all contributions,” he said.
Dr Heti Mulyati, Director of Human Resources of IPB University reported, in 2024 IPB University released as many as 107 retired employees, consisting of 29 lecturers and 78 education personnel (tendik) with the status of civil servants (PNS).
“Employees who retire are due to three things. The first is because 84 people have entered the retirement age, 8 people have passed away, and 2 people have retired early,” she explained.
To the retirees, Dr Heti also expressed her gratitude for the hard work, totality, and wholehearted dedication to IPB University. She said, the legacy that was inscribed was very valuable for IPB University in the future to be able to continue to excel.
“Even though we are separated, hopefully the relationship and spirit of togetherness will not be interrupted,” she added.
Prof Emil Salim who was also present to give a keynote speech shared his perspective on retirement.
“I thought retirement was the end of work, going home and relaxing. But the reality I faced was that after I retired, there was more time available for us,” he said.
“What you want to do with the time you have is now in your hands. This is the key to what retirement is for,” he said. (*AS/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
