Prof Henry Manik, Professor of the Department of Marine Science and Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences IPB University received the Satya Lencana Dwidya Sistha honour from the Commander of the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Centre of the Indonesian Navy (Danpushidrosal).

The pinning of the honour was given directly by the Commander of the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Centre of the Indonesian Navy (Danpushidrosal) which was attended by the Vice Commander of the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Centre of the Indonesian Navy (Wadanpushidrosal) and other officials at the Pushidrosal Platform, North Jakarta, on Friday 5/1.

Satya badge is a sign of honour given to soldiers of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) and Indonesian citizens who are not soldiers of the Indonesian National Army who are meritorious in the field of education, growth and development of the TNI because their position as teachers / instructors at TNI educational institutions has shown loyalty as well as work achievements in providing education.

Regarding the honour, Prof Henry Manik expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Danpushidrosal, Commander of Pushidrosal, Commander of Navy Doctrine, Education and Training, Chief of Staff of the Navy, Commander of the TNI, and the State Secretariat for the award.

“This award is a recognition of all the efforts I have made with the Navy. This award also motivates me to keep trying and innovating,” he said.

He continued, as an academic he feels responsible to introduce his knowledge related to underwater acoustic technology which is useful for resource exploration and the marine environment, one of which is for the military world and especially in monitoring underwater terrorists.

“Acoustic technology can also be used in the construction of the Navy Base Facility Service (Disfaslanal) and its application for hydrography, especially military hydrography,” said Prof Henry.

The awarding of the honour is based on the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia (Keppres) Number 110 / TK / Year 2023 dated 30 October 2023 which was given to Prof Henry Manik, IPB University Lecturer who served as an Outside Instructor at Kodikopsla Kodikal. (*/Lp) (IAAS/RUM)
