IPB University has secured the 35th position globally for environmental education, one of the eleven indicators in the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2024 officially released on December 5, 2023. IPB University is also noted to be in the 184th position for governance indicators.

Overall, out of 1403 universities worldwide, IPB is ranked 405th, with a total score of 62.2.

At the Asia level, based on the Global Rank Summary 2024 for overall performance, IPB University is positioned at 79th. At the ASEAN level, IPB University holds the 23rd position. At the national level, IPB is ranked second.

The assessment in this ranking is based on a methodology consisting of indicators designed to measure an institution’s ability to address environmental, social, and governance challenges globally.

The Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria, emphasized the importance of continually improving IPB University’s performance in sustainability and the environment. He mentioned that IPB University’s efforts are consistently monitored to become a leader and trendsetter in social and environmental sustainability. This achievement aligns with the assessment by Bappenas, which placed IPB at the top spot in the Indonesia’s SDGs Action Awards 2023.

“The environmental issue has been a primary concern for IPB University. As a university that consistently emphasizes the environmental field in its vision and mission, IPB University continues to make efforts to improve performance, especially concerning the educational, social, and environmental impact through increased publication of research and environmentally based innovations,” he explained.
