IPB University’s Two Health Innovations Appear at the 2023 Medical Device Research Empowerment Exhibition

IPB University through the Directorate of Research and Innovation (DRI) also displayed two medical device innovations, namely InventPro and the Alzheimer’s ELISA Kit at the Medical Device Research Empowerment exhibition, EduHealth Fair 2023 which was held by the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) at the Alila Hotel, Solo, Central Java, several last time.

Director of Research and Innovation of IPB University, Prof Sugeng Heri Suseno said that IPB University’s participation in this activity was an excellent opportunity to develop research in the health sector. “This is very relevant to the plan to open the Faculty of Medicine, IPB University,” he explained.

InventPro is an innovation from Dr drh Joko Pamungkas. While the Alzheimer’s ELISA Kit is an innovative product from Dr drh Huda S Darusman. The two innovators are IPB University lecturers from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Medicine Sciences (SKHB).

The Vice Minister of Health, Prof Dante Saksono Harbuwono, who was present at the opening ceremony, said, “In order to increase downstream medical device products, it is necessary to develop research downstream guidelines and a research roadmap.”

According to him, in an effort to increase access, independence and quality of medical devices, the Indonesian Ministry of Health needs to build an integrated research and development ecosystem between academia, the private sector, government, community and media (ABGCM). Medical device research and development can be directed at research that supports medical device independence, one of which is through a network of medical device research centers.

The activity was attended by 38 health polytechnics throughout Indonesia, apart from that they were also invited from universities including IPB University, University of Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology, Diponegoro University, Hasanuddin University, Padjadjaran University, Ten November Institute of Technology, Brawijaya University, Eleven March University and Switzerland German University.
