SPs IPB University Professional Engineer Program Holds Guest Lecture Related to HSE (K3L)

The Professional Engineer Program (PPI) of the Graduate School (SPs) of IPB University held a guest lecture related to 'Safety, Health, Security and Environment (K3L)'. The event was held in Kutai Room 1, SPs IPB University Building, Baranangsiang Campus, Bogor (17/6). Presenting guest lecturer Akhrizal, STP, MM as Manager of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) PT Muliakeramik Indah Jaya, the activity was attended by students of PPI SPs IPB University.

Dr Andes Ismayana, lecturer coordinator of the K3L course in the PPI study program expressed his appreciation for the presence of the speakers and also the PPI study program students who had attended the guest lecturer lecture. "This activity is held to improve students' learning, knowledge, understanding and skills in the field of HSE in industry and can be applied in their home institutions," he said.

He added that with this guest lecturer lecture, there will be an increase in knowledge contained in courses in the industrial scope, both for students of the Recognition of Past Learning (RPL) program and regular program students. "It is hoped that PPI study program students can also provide feedback on problems in the industry," he explained.

Meanwhile, Akhrizal delivered material related to the preparation of the occupational safety and health management system (SMK3). He explained that the implementation of SMK3 in Government Regulation (PP) Numb50 of 2012 aims to increase the effectiveness of occupational safety and health protection that is planned, measured, structured and integrated. 

"The implementation of SMK3 also prevents and reduces work accidents and occupational diseases by involving elements of management, workers/laborers and/or trade unions/labor unions. In addition, to create a safe, comfortable and efficient workplace to encourage productivity," he added.

Akhrizal also explained about the Occupational Safety and Health Advisory Committee (P2KE) in HSE, which is an auxiliary body in the workplace. P2KE is a forum between employers and workers to develop mutual understanding and effective participation in the implementation of occupational safety and health in accordance with Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 04 of 1987.

"P2K3 levels start from Safety Officer, Environmental Officer, Safety Manager, Regional HSE Coordinator and finally the Health Safety and Environmental Department," he concluded. (HBL/Rz) (IAAS/MKY)
