IPB University is Handed by Manado City Government to Improve the Quality of Local Products with Technology

The Manado City Government cooperates with IPB University for the development of the agriculture, tourism and other potential sectors. Manado Mayor GS Vicky Lumentut and Chancellor of IPB University, Prof. Dr. Arif Satria signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Manado Mayor's Office Home, Bumi Beringin (5/2). This memorandum of understanding contains education, research and community service.

On this occasion Prof. Arif assessed that North Sulawesi has an extraordinary biodiversity and can be developed. Through this collaboration, IPB University will implement new breakthroughs that can boost local products to improve the welfare of Manado City. "I hope this cooperation can run well for the welfare of society," he said.

In line with the chancellor, GS Vicky Lumentut hopes that more engineering technology from IPB University can be taken by the City Government through the signing of the cooperation. That is especially for the development of the agricultural sector, tourism, and other potentials.

IPB University has many findings and research results. I want to take what can be used in the city of Manado. It is hoped that agricultural products in the city of Manado can be helped by technology developed by IPB University. This step will increase new sources in boosting Manado City's original revenue (PAD). Actually all of this is to improve people's welfare, "he explained.
