National Standardization Board (BSN) Public Relations and Social Media Benchmarking to IPB University

The National Standardization Board (BSN) Public Relation Team visited the public relations and social media management benchmarking at IPB University, Tuesday (11/19). Head of Public Relations of BSN, Denny Wahyudi, Head of Inter-Institutional Relations, Sigit Wijatmiko, and three staff namely Reza Aditya Saputra, Annisa Hapsari, Awang Pratama. Council were welcomed by the Head of the Communication Bureau of IPB University, Yatri Indah Kusumastuti accompanied by the team.

According to Denny, BSN Public Relations Section gets a new task, namely social media fraud which was previously carried out by other work units. "Our reason for visiting is to study great institutions, especially IPB University, which have received various public relations and social media awards. We want to keep learning. Because this related management is still new, especially for the official social media, "he said.

This year IPB University won the award for Best Social Media Management, Bakohumas-Kominfo Public Relations Media Award 2019, while in the previous year it won the III Best Social Media award in the PTN-BH category.

The Head of the Communication Bureau, Yatri Indah Kusumastuti conveyed the work program of the Communication Bureau in particular the management of public relations. "This year, Alhamdulillah, we received the Indonesia Public Relations Award for public service rooms and websites, then from Bakohumas Indonesia for social media and press releases. On November 21, we were also named the Informative Campus again from the Central Information Commission. "

Furthermore Yatri said, the various ratings that followed so far were a tool to measure performance. "We want to know where our position is. How far have we gotten and whether it is on the right track. We consider this achievement as a bonus and motivation for staying enthusiastic in carrying out increasingly dynamic public relations tasks," Yatri said.

Yatri added that IPB University as the most prospective innovation producing campus in Indonesia had the Science Technopark (STP) in charge of supporting technology downstreaming. "For that, the support from BSN that is needed by IPB University researchers in terms of research standardization to support the downstream technology in the future is urgently needed," he added.

Denny Wahyudi and the BSN team hoped that from this visit many positive things could be learned to support the implementation of publication activities at BSN to various media. Publication is important to increase public awareness in the application of data using products with Indonesian National Standards (SNI). He also stated that to strengthen institutional relations, BSNI conducted various collaborations with various agencies. One of IPB University's lecturers, Prof. Purwiyatno Hariyadi from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, became the profile icon of BSN magazine. "So if there are figures who shine from IPB University, it can be our concern to be associated with standardized content," he added.

After this meeting, IPB University and BSN will continue to establish communication and collaboration by involving stakeholders widely, especially lecturers and students in educational programs on national standardization. (NR)
