Enriching Knowledge in Business Management, Udayana University Visits IPB University

A total of 16 participants from the Udayana University (Unud) University, Bali visited IPB University in the occasion of developing business and entrepreneurship, Monday (10/28). Symbolically, the delegation from Unud was welcomed by the Vice Rector for Innovation, Business and Entrepreneurship, Prof. Dr. Erika Budiarti Laconi, MS and the Director of IPB University Business and Entrepreneurship Development Dr. rer nat Jaenal Effendi, MA in the Rector's Meeting Room, Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, IPB University.

“IPB University manages research, innovation, and downstream with highly organized and patterned manner, so it is time that we learn from IPB University,” said Prof. Ida Bagus Wyasa Putra, SH, M.Hum, Vice Rector for Planning, Research, and Information of Udayana University. Ida admitted, Unud actually already had research, innovation, and advancement centres, so this visit was more of learning the mechanism of organization managerial from IPB University.

Responding to this, Prof. Erika explained that the key to the success of IPB University in managing business is to appreciate the innovative work of lecturers, students and education staff.

"This is important because they are a unity that cannot be separated. In addition, assets at IPB University include expertise, technology, reputation, networking, and land resources. The asset certainly has standard regulations and guidelines, "said Prof. Erika.

The other key of success in managing innovation according to this Professor in the Department of Nutrition and Feed Technology is there has to be one body that specifically records and protects the research results.

"At IPB University there is one directorate that has the authority to record and protect research results at the Institute for Research and Community Empowerment (LPPM). Besides that, at the IPB University there is also a decision of the Academic Business Unit (SUA) and Supporting Business Unit (SUP) as well as standard building or land use tariffs for business," added Prof. Erika.

On this occasion, the group from Udayana University was invited to visit several business locations of IPB University such as Botani Bakery, Agribusiness and Technology Park, and ended at Botani Mart.
