Three students of the Department of Ilmi Syariah Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM), IPB University, Reizha Nurul Huda, Hanif Muhammad Akram and Atika Ayuningtyas succeeded in becoming the Third Champion of the Islamic Economic Debate Competition. This competition is a series of Unila Sharia Economic Festival events held by the University of Lampung's Islamic Economic Study Forum (25-26 / 08). The competition entitled "Development of Halal Industry through Islamic Sociopreneurs in the Millennial Era" was held at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Lampung.

Like the debate competition in general, the contestants are given a variety of motions that are discussed in the race. "There are many interesting motions, especially the discussion of this event with the theme of Islamic economics, in accordance with my scientific field. There is one motion that is very interesting to discuss, namely regarding cryptocurrency as a means of payment, "said Reizha.

Cryptocurrency is a digital or virtual currency that is designed as a medium of exchange with work methods based on blokchain technology. One example of cryptocurrency is Bitcoin. Reizha explained that cryptocurrency itself has been circulating for a long time, but it has only been widely recognized by the public since 2009. Regarding whether or not it is valid as a means of payment, sharia is still a matter of debate.

"There are scholars who allow and some who do not. During the race, we became a team that agreed that cryptocurrency became a legal payment tool. Based on the team's position, there is literature that we have sought and read beforehand, stating that cryptocurrency can be a means of payment, but if cryptocurrency is used for investment, it should not be, "said Reizha.
