The ‘Standout’ Team of IPB University won second place at Deloitte Risk Intelligence Challenge (RIC) 2019. The team consisted of Reza Satria (Department of Agricultural Industry Technology), Renery Yemima (Department of Economics), Muhammad Rizki Maulana (Department of Agricultural Industrial Technology) and Laras Salsabila (Department of Communication Science and Community Development).

RIC is an annual inter-university competition that aims to develop entrepreneurship skill and make individuals ready to face risks. This event is created to attract students to have business and creative ideas in terms of innovation and risk management. This year’s RIC was held by one of the largest Public Accountants Office (KAP) in Indonesia, namely Deloitte, on 16 May 2019 at Wisma Antara Jakarta. In 2019 RIC focused more on the innovation in the industrial revolution 4.0 in economic, social and environmental aspects. The competition was divided into two stages, namely the pre-eliminary stage and the final stage.

“At the pre-eliminary stage, we were asked to give proposals about the risk analysis of companies undergoing digital transformation. Six of the 100 participating teams qualified for the final stage. We prepared ourselves through brainstorming ideas and research as well as studying literature. In this competition, problem solving skills and good cooperation were needed. We were grateful that some of us have environmental science background and learn about risk management,” said Rizki.

In the final stage, the participants presented the scenario as a solution to risk analysis in front of professional judges.

“With today’s e-commerce competition, it is hoped that there will be e-commerce that can raise environmental issues. Our team conducted a case study on one of the largest e-commerce in Indonesia. We did risk analyzes that have an impact and created scenarios named RE-BOX. RE-BOX is an e-commerce solution to overcome the problem of packaging waste and can be a sustainable business. The scenario is related to the use of technology and analytic data. The main scenario is green private label, repack and backbox,” said Reza. (Ghinaa/Zul/zsp)
