General Competency Education Program of IPB University in collaboration with the Directorate of Alumni Cooperation and Relations (DKHA) of IPB presented ten young alumni who have achievements and used to be active in organization, at the "Gedung Social Gathering (SoDung)" activity which was packaged in Alumni Talk event, Tuesday (23/4), at PPKU Dormitory Building, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor.

"We will evaluate everything later at the end, starting from what alumni are able to provide motivation, to what kind of motivation delivery model which is suitable for the students," explained Dr. Zaenal Abidin, Assistant Director of Student Dormitory and Student Affairs of PPKU IPB. Meanwhile the Chairperson of the IPB PPKU Dormitory Program, Fathudin said that this activity was held to support students' participation in organization.

The Alumni Talk invited ten young IPB alumni to share their experiences and strategies to be active in organization while at the same time having good academic record. Please get rid of all negative perceptions because not everyone who is active in the organization will have poor academic records," explained Achmad Fadillah, a young lecturer at the IPB Business School.

This was supported by the statement of Diki Saefurohman, S.Hut, MM, "I got all soft skills such as networking, leadership, positive thinking, and collaboration skills from organization experience. So when I graduated I didn't need to worry, because my mind had been honed. The way to not be trapped as a useless person in organization is by finding our passion and making a lot of planning, so that we could appreciate our time, people and living systems," he added.

SoDung is a routine activity for PPKU dormitory people. This activity is carried out in each dormitory by inviting guest speakers. The SoDung activity aims to provide interactive space and enrichment of information for all dormitory residents in one building. It is hoped that the alumni who are invited will be able to provide motivation and adaptation, and share the latest information that refers to the development and strengthening of the characters of the students living in dormitory.
