Fifteen IPB Students Join Winter Program in Kyoto University

Fifteen best students of IPB University (IPB) joined International Exchange Winter Program in Kyoto University (KU), (16-24/2). In Japan, they participated in classes presented by the professors in Kyoto University and field trips.

The students are Reza Satria, Muhammad Hayyu Mahabbah, Laras Salsabila, Baiq Nabila MU, Fatimah Azzahra, Elke Camelia Halim, Savira Astri Adriana, Adrian Triandi, Yunita Sulistyo P, Ni Putu Ayu ES, Alfian Yuliansyah, Edo Adianto Ramadhan, Bagus Rahmansyah P, Nadiya Atika, and Michelle Natali. “Besides campus tour who was led by the Dean of the Graduate School of Agriculture (GSA), Prof. Eiji Nawata, the students also visited Kizu Experimental Farm (owned by Kyoto University) which has implemented advanced technology, Kitayama Sugi no sato Forestry Center and finally tourism village Mitayama Historic Village in northern Kyoto. Besides those places, the students also visited various interesting tourist destinations in Kyoto,” said Dr. Ir. Nurhayati, M.Sc, as one of the accompanying lecturers from IPB.

This program was conducted by the partnership of IPB and Kyoto University whose Memorandum of Understanding signed since 2013. In IPB, this partnership is coordinated by Dr. Ernan Rustiadi, M.Agr, while the two lecturers who acted as cross appointees as well as accompanying lecturers were Dr. Ir. Nurhayati, M.Sc and Dr. Andrea Emma Pravitasari, SP., MSi.

This year, 2019, is the third year ‘Winter Program’ takes place, made happen by GSA, Kyoto University. Besides ‘Winter Program’, there are also other programs which are routinely held under the partnership of IPB-Kyoto University, such as Master Double Degree (DD) IPB-KU program, research partnership, lecturers and students mobility programs, spring school, autumn school, internship and international symposium and education exhibition,” said Dr. Ernan.
