Strengthening the Mentality of Young Generation, HIMMPAS of IPB Holds Munakahat Seminar
The Muslim Student Association of the Postgraduate of Bogor Agricultural University (HIMMPAS of IPB) managed to hold a Seminar on Munakahat/Marriage, a premarital study to thoroughly discuss Psychological Health and Marriage Fiqh. This seminar was held in the Hall of Al Huriyyah Mosque of IPB with the number of participants reaching 200 people, Saturday (8/12).
In the surah Al Ma’arij in Qur’an, there are seven signs of people who will get the glory of the heaven of Allah SWT. One of them is to keep the genitals only for wife. This is in line with current concerns. The rampant practice of lesbian, gay, bisexual (LGBT), and transgender has become a serious challenge for the millennial era youth.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Nahrowi, MSc, as the Advisor of HIMMPAS and Secretary of the Graduate School of IPB in his speech said that the problems of sexual needs are very close to psychological health, especially in youth. Intelligence studies related to addressing sexual needs are important to improve the quality and mentality of the youth. “A few years ago many students were asked for permission to leave for sick. After tracing the problems, it turned out that one of the problems that made the students late for graduation was dating. From there, other mental problems arise,” said Prof. Nahrowi.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad, MS, on this occasion discussed the limitations of interaction between men and women, marriage as part of worship, the attention of the Prophet to youth, criteria for prospective wives, criteria for prospective husbands, ta’aruf and khitbah, marriage contract, post-marriage life, and 3×4 formula as indicator of household success.
“Women are married because of four things, namely their wealth, beauty, family and religion,” said Prof. Ahmad.
In the second session, a topic on marriage psychology health was delivered by Dr. Dewi Inong Inara, Sp.KK. In this last session, the urgency of health preparation towards marriage was conveyed, such as maintaining a healthy diet, the danger of LGBT, tricks and tips on running a harmonious family without violence and shouting, and a little talk about parenting. “So, prepare a positive doctrine to brainwash children so that they only do good things,” concluded Dr. Dewi (IS/RIS/ZSP).
