In line with its name, ALMI only consists of young scientists with specialty in scientific publications, patents, or scientific awards after finishing doctorate degree. The role of young scientists in education, especially in science, can be supported by ALMI. A series of events conducted by ALMI have the purpose of improving the nation's competitiveness.

Dr. Alan said that the supply of materials containing carbon, nitrogen, and phosphor from industries, agriculture, and housing will enter the water and end up at the ocean. That research assess the input and output of substances until they reach the atmosphere. The research shows that the budget surplus or deficit are correlated to the balance of ecosystem, fisheries, and climate change. This model can be used as a reference in formulating policies for sustainable development.
