Herdina was named the Master in Data Analytics

Herdina Kuswari, a student from the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Bogor Agricultural University (FMIPA IPB) was named the Master in Data Analytics. Herdina obtained the title in the National Statistics Competition (KSN) competition at the 13th The Statistika Ria event at the Dramaga Campus of IPB, Bogor (10/11). Herdina managed to overcome hundreds of participants from other universities in Indonesia.

"KSN is like a science Olympiad competition in general. We were given a problem and we were asked to analyze the data. We are free to use any method, for certain, the data can be interpreted well," explained Herdina.

According to her, the question given is not easy because the problem is very real and complex. An example is how the advertisements in sales in a company affect. In addition to such applied questions, there are also statistical theories.

"In the previous years I was a committee of this event, this year I became a participant and thankfully I was declared a champion. "It's really nice to be able to measure my abilities and add skills, especially in the field of statistics," she said.

According to her, in the era of industrial revolution 4.0, data and digital became crucial because everyone needed it. Statistics is a branch of mathematics that deals with data. So statistics become one of the main keys in the current era.

The Department of Statistics of IPB is recognized as the first and best provider of statistical education in Indonesia established by the Father of Indonesian Statistics: Prof. Andi Hakim Nasoetion. This department is also one of the favorite study programs for prospective students. This is seen from the intense competition between registrants.

In addition to KSN, the organizing team also held a Statistical Essay Competition (SEC), Statistical Infographic Competition (SIC), international talkshow and seminar. (FM)
