C-Gathering: Next Year FPIK IPB will Hold Archipelago Fisheries Festival

The alumni of Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty (FPIK) Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) gathered for the “C-Gathering” event at IPB Dramaga Campus on Saturday (17/11). The alumni originated from various batches starting from C-minus until the last alumni batch which was C-51. C is the faculty code for the Fisheries and Marine Sciences Faculty (FPIK).
Dr. Ir. Lucky Adrianto, The Dean of FPIK IPB said that the event was an annual event in honor of the 55th Dies Natalis FPIK. “In honor of the 55th Dies, we held the Fisheries and Marine Sciences Week (FMSW) 2018 for as long as one week. The C-Gathering event was just a warm up because hopefully at the beginnin of next year we will hold Ruaya 2019 or the meeting of alumni FPIK and at the end of the year will hold FINA or Archipelago Fisheries Festival 2019,” he said.
He also gave thanks towards the attending alumni at the blue campus. “We hope that all of you keep loving our faculty and keep migrating. Migrating as the terminology that is exact to be used so that we all migrate back to campus. From the campus back to the campus,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ir. Nelly Oswini, the Head of the Committee of the Fisheries and Marine Sciences Week 2018 announced that the event was going successfully due to the cooperation of all the amazing teams. In her opening speech, she called upon the head coordinator of the series of events of FMSW and gave her gratitude. The coordinator was Prof. Dr. Ir. Sulistiono as the Expo Coordinator, Ir. Sulis Widyawati as the Coordinator of the Talkshow Let’s Eat Fish, and Dr. Roza Yusfiandayani as the Coordinator of the C-Gathering event.
The head of the FPIK Alumni, Ir. Abdul Aziz, MBA said, “I as the Head of the FPIK Alumni would like to give my thanks to all the those who supported and helped this evet. Of course we will continue to hold events like this. I ask for full support of these events from all of you. This event is all our hard work together,” he said.
IPB Rector, Dr. Arif Satria was present and also contributed in living up the event. Dr. Arif alongside with Bandrek Susu (Band Rektorat Suka-Suka) played a couple of songs. This appearance was greeted lively by all the participants of the event.
This C-Gathering which was attended by 450 participats was liven up by live music band FPIK alumni called “Blue-Band” by the Dean of FPIK IPB. Blue symbolizing FPIK which had a blue nuance. The event also had Poseidon and Maumere Aerobics, breakfast together, eating fish together, and bazaar stands of innovative fisheries and marine products and event sponsors.
Dr. Ki Abdul Azis as the representative of the C0-5 presented a book “Migration C 012345 Passing on Knowledge and Memories” to the IPB Rector, Dean of FPIK, and Head of HA-FPIK. The book was filled about the foundations of sustainable fisheries and marine management for the welfare of the people.
One of the FPIK IPB alumni, Wignyo Handoko, announced that he highly appreciated the event. “This event is very nice because now we can meet with our old friends, I am very touched,” He said. Wignyo hopes that events like this are routinely held and are more frequent. “For instance, with a panel discussion from the senior alumni to share their experiences and spirit to the younger batches,” he added.
C-Gathering is the main event and also the closing event in the “Fisheries and Marine Sciences Week” which was held throughout 12-17 November 2018 by FPIK IPB. The event was also in the means of celebrating the 55th Dies Natalis FPIK IPB and in rememberance of National Let’s Eat Fish Day on November 21st. Those who attended the event were Dr. Ir. Drajat Martianto (Vice Rector of Education and Student Department), Prof. Ir. Rokhmin Dahuri (Professor of FPIK IPB), Dr. Syarifah Iis Aisyah (Director of Innovations and Enterprenurship), Dr. Nimmi Zulbainarni (Vice Dean of IPB Business School) and Prof. Dr. Sri Lestari Angka. Prof Angka is an alumni who graduated four years before IPB and FPIK were established. (AVR)
