Saciok bak ayam, sadantiang bak basi. That is the motto of the Bogor Agricultural University Alumni (IPB) from Minang, starting from class 1 to class 51 which means 'One Voice'. The IPB alumni from Minang attended the Baralek Gadang event and the Alumni Great Conference on October 5-6 at Salak The Heritage Hotel, Bogor.
IPB alumni gathered in the Minang Student Student Alumni Association (PAPMM) believe that working together in a forum becomes an organizational strength. On this occasion, the Chairperson of the PAPMM, Syahmiharnis conveyed several excellent activities. According to the IPB Alumni of class 18 of the Department of Land, the ease of PAPMM as an organization could establish a company owned by PAPMM members and aimed at creating jobs and helping empower alumni. More than one hundred Minang human resources were recorded as IPB alumni. "At least this has become a great potential in strengthening human resources. Business pioneering has been carried out by the Team Leader of Business Development and Alumni Empowerment in the wood pellet business. Business results are set aside to strengthen the PAPMM budget," he said.
Another program that PAPMM has done is conducting motivation and entrepreneurship training. On October 22, 2016, the "Enhancing Motivation and Work World Insight" Facing the MEA Era "was started for IPB alumni from Minang. Through this training, it is hoped that it can motivate participants to be able to prepare themselves in order to enter a highly competitive workforce.
Syahmiharnis further said, besides that, PAPMM also supported the Minang Student Association (IPMM) in the National Festival of IPB (GENUS) IPB 2015, 2016 and 2018. "In harmony with the spirit and spirit of Minang, students are assets that need to be fostered and prepare for the coming era, "he explained.
PAPMM also coordinates with the Minang Care Foundation and Minang Lecturers. Some of the joint activities carried out were Break Fasting with PAPMM. In addition, one of the GEZA Program (Alumni Zakat Movement) mainstay programs. This zakat movement is collected directly from alumni. The collected zakat will be used again to IPB students from Minang to help with the smooth running of their studies.
One program that was recorded as the success of PAPMM was the establishment of a Rp. 17 billion minang dormitory which was intended for IPB students from Minang. In the next management, the Minang student dormitory is managed by the Government of the Province of West Sumatra (West Sumatra). The aim is to create coordination in the management of the dormitory going forward.
After three years leading the PAPMM, Syahmiharnis was replaced by Prof. Dr. Erliza Hambali. The Chairperson and Management of PAPMM was elected inaugurated directly by the Governor of West Sumatra, Saturday (6/10) and was attended by more than 640 IPMM alumni. On that occasion as the elected Chairperson, Prof. Dr Erliza Hambali also set targets including preparing cadre leaders and strengthening members' finances. (NR)
