Within 15 Minutes Hundreds of Million Funds Collected from IPB Cup Rector Alumni Golf Tournament
Bogor Agricultural University Alumni who are members of the Alumni Golf Association (PGA IPB) under the command of Dr. Ir. Rudy Irawan has a very high concern for the world of education. They have a noble heart. This is evident in the 55th Anniversary of IPB's Open Golf Tournament activities for the IPB Chancellor Cup at Sentul Highland Golf Club, September 9, 2018, which managed to raise scholarship funds to nearly half a billion rupiah. This is also a proof that IPB's candradim crater has succeeded in conjuring up many people who used to enjoy education subsidies to become people who are able to finance education and are even moved to help others.
The tournament which was participated by 164 golfers took place lively after passing 18 holes, starting from 7 am to 12 noon. After that, the event continued with lunch together and the announcement of the champions. The tournament was also participated by PGA from nine universities including IPB, University of Indonesia (UI), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Ten November Institute of Technology (ITS), Sebelas Maret State University (UNS), Udayana University, General Sudirman University (Unsoed) and Universitas Brawijaya (UB).
Chancellor of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria said, "The IPB alumni are diverse, but we must remain united. Moreover, there are university alumni in Indonesia, because if Indonesia wants to advance, our college must be united. Therefore, I appreciate the IPB PGA which has organized tournaments and scholarship fundraising. Therefore, we will compete for the Chancellor Cup regularly every year, "explained the Chancellor of IPB in his speech.
On this occasion the Chairman of the IPB Alumni Golf Association (PGA), Dr. Ir. R. Rudy Irawan, MM said, "The tournament was held with the aim to strengthen the intimacy of IPB alumni spread throughout Indonesia. Besides that, we also hope that with Charity today, it will help our younger siblings who need scholarship assistance, "explained the IPB PGA Chairperson.
In this tournament, a fund of Rp. 405 million was collected, of which Rp. 150 million was the profit from the tournament and Rp. 255 million was the result of the fund collected during the event. One of the administrators of HA IPB, Kartika explained, "PGA IPB will be distributed to IPB, the mechanism will be discussed first with the Directorate of Student Affairs and Career Development," explained Kartika when confirmed regarding the distribution of the aid funds. In this activity, the song created by the Chancellor of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria, entitled "Forever" was greeted by a loud applause from the tournament participants. (KD / ris)
