Two librarians of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Sri Rahayu and Ratnaningsih successfully won second place at  Competition Based Librarianship Study which was held by National Library of Indonesian Republic (Perpusnas RI) last mid-August. Both librarians proposed a paper titled "Acquisition Effectiveness of Repository Collection in University: Study Case in Bogor Agricultural University".

Librarianship study and scientific papers were the primary elements for Librarian Expertise based on Ministerial Regulation on Utilization of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform of the Indonesian Republic No 9 Year 2014 about Librarian Functional Position and Its Credit Score. By doing two of the events, it was expected to create professional librarian that had a competency in the study of librarianship and in making scientific paper.

In order to encourage librarians to achieve these competencies, Perpusnas RI as Supervising Committee of Librarian Development Center held this Competition Based Librarianship Study in 2018 and chose seven best study proposals through a selection process.

There were several topics of study that were delivered by Perpusnas. One of them is University Library: The Open Access Movement for Institution's Repository Creates National Resources to Increase The Quality of University Research. With the selection of this librarianship proposals, it is expected to be an encouragement and stimulation for other librarians to continue to do the same. (CN)
