Self-Briefing Before Graduation, IPB Student Learn from Successful Alumni
Food Science and Technology Student Association (Himitepa) Bogor Agricultural University successfully held Studium Generale of Access (Abbreviation: Alumni Success) entitled "Discover Your Potency for Future Food Technology". The event took place at the Auditorium of Abdul Muis Nasoetion (21/4) and was attended by approximately 100 participants consisting of students of the General Competence Education Program (PPKU) and students from the Department of Food Science and Technology (ITP).
Saccharina Rahma Fitriani as the Chairman of the Committee said that Accces is a program of Himitepa in the form of sharing with alumni. This event is held to help identify self potential and prepare for post-campus life. This event presented four successful alumni from four different fields of government, academics, industry and entrepreneur.
"The alumni will share their work experience in every area of ??their profession and share what tips students need to prepare in facing post-campus life," Saccharina said.
This event was attended by Dr. Anton Apriyantono, Minister of Agriculture period of 2004-2009 as a representative of successful alumni in the government field. According to Dr. Anton, tips to be successful are try to recognize our self-potential and actively involved in students’ organizational activities. We should also develop soft skills and keep learning.
He also added that there are at least five things to be considered in the career, namely do not hesitate to start from zero, always prepare plans and targets, do not give up if it fails, always evaluate and make new plans, and should consistent.
Dr. Manikharda, researcher at IPB SEAFAST Center, also presented as a successful alumni in academics field. Dr. Manikharda says to be successful we should recognize our strengths and weaknesses, continue to learn, and always improve our skills. "Do not be afraid to face the challenges ahead and must be patient with the process," he said.
Meanwhile, Galih Nugroho (Production Manager of PT Nutrifood Indonesia), a successful alumni in industry and Richard Suma Kusnadi (Owner Wake Cup Indonesia) represents the entrepreneur, delivered their tips to be successful, namely choosing and pursuing the preferred field.
"Hopefully a lot of knowledge can be obtained and inspired all student participants through this event," said Chairman Himitepa, M. Muflih Fathulhuda. (TK)
