The event was a collaborative action of the Ministry of Environment of KM of IPB and KPC of Bogor in commemorating the National Trash Concern Day / Hari Peduli Sampah Nasional 2018, which was nationally held on 17-25 February. This activity was filled with the trash pickup action on the banks of Ciliwung river.
Student of Conservation of Forest Resources and Ecotourism (KSHE), Faculty of Forestry (Fahutan) of IPB, Hisyam Abdulloh, said, the action of Mulung Ciliwung aimed to be more friendly with the environment. “River is the surface water that is very close to humans, so that its sustainability needs to be maintained. Ciliwung river is the most famous place as the dirty river. With this action, we invite ourselves and invite others to be more aware of how important to keep the environment together,” said Hisyam.
This National Trash Concern Day got the participation from many parties, including the students of IPB, the students of Sekolah Bogor Raya, the students of Pakuan University, PMI of Bogor, and Chelsea Indonesia Fans Club.
The activity of ‘Mulung Ciliwung’ by KPC of Bogor was done once a week, i.e. on Saturday. “We hope that more and more people participate in each action and become the ongoing program both from Bogor residents and the students of IPB,” said Hisyam. (SMH/nm)
