IPB Students Organized Socialization Program on Scholarships Availability for High School Students of Bogor
Students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) who are members of Bogor Scholar or a group of IPB scholarships awardees while they had been students of IPB organized held Bogor Scholarfest 2018. Items of the this special event program, among others were Scholarships EXPO, SBMPTN Tryouts and Inspirational Talkshows at IPB Campus, Dramaga, Bogor, on 4 March 2018. This event was attended by about 250 students from High School (SMA) in Bogor, Tangerang and Cianjur. "The event was organized as a means to provide information for High School students as how to pass the State Universities selection tests, especially into IPB, life around campus, and the available scholarship in IPB," said Hartato, Chief Executive.
He added that the Bogor Scholarfest 2018 was really well-implemented, it has arouse the high enthusiasm of High School students to pursue their study into IPB. Such program will be more fruitful if it is to be organized in regular basis. In addition, regular program will enable provide opportunity for the missing funding organization which were unable to come for the socialization program. Of 12 funding institution to grant scholarships invited, to four of them were unable to attend. However, the other eight scholars were capable to represent those institutions to answer any questions raised by curios High School students related to availability of scholarship for IPB students.
The high participant's anticipation was indicated by the number of question and answer delivered during talkshow, as well as in their seriousness to do their tests on SBMPTN Tryout. Thought according to schedule it was a day-event, but the participants were provided special forum through Whatsapp to inquire further questions regarding how to study into IPB.
"We hope that this kind of event can be participated by more High School studentsall over Indonesia. Moreover, such program is expected to be inspirational program for students of other campuses to share their experiences to assist their juniors or other High School students as how to study into state universities,” said Hartato who is also student of Department of Silviculture, Faculty of Forestry of IPBs.
In a talkshow session, the committee presented an inspirational student with the theme of “Tantangan Menghadapi Dunia Kampus dan Bagaimana Rasanya Menjadi Penerima Beasiswa Challenges Facing the World of Learning and How to Be a Scholarship Recipient' presented by Irsyad Al-Ghifari (FEM 52) and Irfan Fathony (FATETA 51).
