IPB Rector and 3 Vice Rectors Present at Agria Swara Concert Towards Switzerland
In an effort to prepare for its mission at the 54th Montreux Choral Festival, the Student Choir (PSM) of Agria Swara Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held a pre-competition concert. Pre-competition concert held in the Hall of Symphony Jakarta (18/3) with the theme "Gita Narapraya".
Person in charge of the concert, Dandy Ramadi who is also a student from the Department of Mathematics IPB said the theme "Gita Narapraya" has the meaning of an expectation to be able to work and achievement through the art of music.
"Through this pre-competition concert we really hope later in Switzerland we can again bring the name of Indonesia," said Dandy.
The pre-competition concert was divided into two sessions. In the first session, PSM Agria Swara IPB presented the songs that will be performed at the competition in Switzerland at the end of March. The songs are from the famous composers of the world, both from domestic and abroad. The songs were sung in various languages ??including English, Latin, Italian, German, and French.
In the second session, PSM Agria Swara performed famous Indonesian traditional songs that were beautifully packed with their distinctive dances. The songs were presented as cultural missions of PSM Agria Swara as well as introduced the cultural diversity of Indonesia to Switzerland.
In this pre-competition concert also attended the Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria, Vice Rector for Resources, Planning and Finance, Dr. Ir. Agus Purwito, M.Sc.Agr, Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ir, Drajat Martianto, M.Sc., Minister of Environment and Forestry, Dr. Ir. Siti Nurbaya Bakar, and Director of Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk, Triawan Munaf.
"We sincerely hope that this pre-competition concert will encourage Agria Swara team to continue to achieve through the art of music and the name of the Indonesian nation in the international arena," said Dr. Arif Satria in his speech.
This pre-competition concert was also attended by famous Indonesian artists, such as Viky Sianipar, Putri Ayu, and Maria Calista. The audiences also came from students, IPB Alumni Association, IPB lecturers, and the general public.
The 54th Montreux Choral Festival Competition will take place for 3 days, April 4-7, 2018 taking place in Switzerland. This concert will be attended by 40 members of PSM Agria Swara consisting of undergraduate and postgraduate students of IPB. (TK)
