IPB Inaugurates New Vice-Rectors
Chairman of the Board of Trustees (MWA) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Prof. Dr. Muhamad Achmad Chozin, inaugurated the newly elected Vice Rectors of IPB period 2018-2023. The inauguration ceremony was held at the Lobby of Rectorate Building Andi Hakim Nasoetion, IPB Campus, Dramaga, Bogor, on 2 February 2018.
The newly inaugurated Vice Rectors were, Dr. Ir. Drajat Martianto, M.Sc as Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Ir. Agus Purwito, M.Sc.Agr, as Vice Rector for Resources, Planning and Finance; Prof. Dr. Ir. Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat, M.Sc.F. as Vice Rector for Cooperation and Information System; and Prof. Dr. Ir. Erika Budiarti Laconi, MS as Vice Rector for Innovation, Business and Entrepreneurship.
Prof. Muhamad Achmad Chozin said that the Board of Trustees as a representative organ of stakeholders in IPB, which is involved in many legislation, especially on governance, feels the need to convey for the socialization and education that in Government Regulation (PP) No. 66 Year 2013 on Statute of IPB stated that the appointment of Vice Rectors of IPB became the authority of MWA since IPB was designated as State University – Legal Entity (PTN-BH). All IPB governance is based on the Statute of IPB which has been established in the Government Regulation (PP) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 60 Year 2013 on Statute of IPB signed by the President.
Further Prof. Chozin said that specifically for the appointment and dismissal of the Rector and Vice Rector are stipulated in the IPB Statute Article 53 paragraph 1 – 5, states that (1). Rector and Vice Rector are appointed and dismissed by MWA; (2). Rector is responsible to MWA; (3). The Vice Rectors are responsible to the rector (4) The Rector and Vice Rector shall be appointed for a term of 5 (five) years and may be re-elected for 1 (one) term of office; and (5). Procedure of appointment, appointment, dismissal and interim turnover The Rector and Vice Rector shall be governed by the Rules of MWA.
In accordance with the Statute of IPB, the inauguration of Vice Rectors is regulated in MWA Regulation No. 29 / IT3. MWA / KP / 2017 Article 4 paragraph (1-3), states that (1). The Vice Rector as referred to in Article 3 paragraph (4) is appointed and inaugurated as Vice-Rector by MWA; (2). Before he enter on the Execution of his/her Office, he/she shall take the Oath or Affirmation Before, in accordance with the applicable provisions; (3). Vice Rector is appointed for a term of 5 (five) years and may be re-elected for 1 (one) term of office.
Chairman of the MWA acknowledged the former Vice Rectors period of 2013-2018 who have carried out their jobs well without complaint. "Your works will become the strong foundation for sustainability, upgrading and renewal in the future development of IPB to meet the disruption era, to a better IPB. The tasks ahead are heavy, but everything can be done with the synergy of all components in the faculties, departments, and laboratories in IPB to achieve the targets of the institution. ”For the new inaugurated Vice Rectors, we all members of MWA, would like to congratulate all of you who will be mandated to dedicate your effort, mind, and time to IPB for the five following years," Prof. Muhamad Achmad Chozin said.
Yet, Rector of IPB, Dr. Arif Satria, entrusted to the inaugurated Vice Rectors for Education and Student Affairs. Ir. Drajat Martianto, M.Si, to carry out the tasks and perform the functions in outlining the strategic policy of IPB in education and student affairs, in organizing the development of educational and student administration programs, new student management, promotion and implementation, multistrata academic program development, and professional training programs for graduates.
Then, to the Vice Rector for Resources, Planning and Finance, Dr.Ir. Agus Purwito, M.Sc.Agr, the Rector entrusted him to carry out the tasks and in outlining the strategic policy of IPB for its Resources, Planning and Finance in organizing the planning and development of programs and budgets; management and development of human resources, performance management, and financial management.
To the Vice Rector for Cooperation and Information System, Prof. Dr. Dr. Ir. Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat, M.Sc, F.Trop, the Rector entrusted him to carry all the duties required to perform the functions in outlining the strategic policy of IPB in cooperation and information system in organizing and developing cooperation and international programs, strengthening alumni relations, data management based on information technology
To the Vice Rector for Innovation, Business and Entrepreneurship, Prof. Dr. Ir. Erika Budiarti Laconi, MS, the Rector entrusted her to carry all the duties required to perform the strategic policy of IPB in Innovation, Business and Entrepreneurship in conducting innovation and entrepreneurship development, business development of expertise-based institute and IPB owned resources including commercial asset management.
On this occasion, the Rector expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the former vice-chancellors period 2013-2018 who have laid the foundation for the progress and transformation of IPB. "In particular to Prof. Dr. Ir. Yonny Koesmaryono, MS; Prof. Dr. Ir. Hermanto Siragar M.Ec; Prof. Dr. Ir. Anas Miftah Fauzi M.Eng; and Dr. Ir. Arif Imam Suroso, M.Sc, their dedications will be recorded as charity jariyah and integral parts of the university. You have produced a lot of works and outputs, they are really challenges for vice rectors who are currently inaugurated to maintain the quality of IPB in the future," said the Rector.
With the effort and the common goal, with all the heart and dedication, the Rector believes all those targets can be achieved through the synergy and harmonization between the university team and all components at IPB. The cooperation will encourage IPB to give more contribution to the nation the society, answer the historical appeal and the challenges of the times to bring IPB to a glorious future.
