Rector of the Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Dr. Arif Satria, inaugurated approximately 1,500 students from 106 Student Organizations (Ormawa) in IPB, at IPB Campus Dramaga, Bogor (7/1). These Ormawas included the Student Consultative Assembly (MPM) of the Student Family (KM); Student Representative Council (DPM) KM; Student Executive Board (BEM) KM; all DPM and BEM of faculty levels; 39 Professional Association (Himpro) at the undergraduate level; 5 Vocational School Profession Association; and 35 Student Activity Units (UKM) in the field of talent and reasoning.

IPB Rector congratulated all Ormawa who have been officially inaugurated for the period 2017-2018. In this growing era, the rector advised all Ormawa to be better prepared to forge themselves to face changes. "This is the right time for each Ormawa to be involved in collaboration rather than competition. Each ormawa should be able to apply 3C namely critical thinking, creative thinking and communication. Activist students are also expected to be role model for the surrounding community with achievement, not only non-academic but also in the academic field," he said.

On this occasion, the rector invited several students who dare to compete in singing the song entitled “Mahasiswa”, his creation. Six students from selected faculties won the singing competition and received prize i.e. a book for their courage to compete on the stage.

This event was also attended by Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of IPB, Prof. Dr. Yonny Koesmaryono; Director of Student Affairs of IPB, Dr. Sugeng Santoso; as well as the deans of IPB. (TK)
