Students of IPB Held the I-Share
IPB Social and Health Care (I-Share) was one of the work programs of the Ministry of Social and Community Development, Student Executive Board of Student Family (BEM of KM), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). A series of activities consisted of the Children Goes to Campus (CGTC) and Gerakan Mahasiswa Turun Desa (GMTD) / Student Movement of Doing Down the Village.
CGTC was an activity that was held with the aim of introducing children to the agriculture and fostering motivation to continue to the lecture benches later. While, GMTD aimed to collaborate the goodness of the students of IPB to further prove that the student movement to the community was still there according to the mandate of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi. This series of event was opened on 4 September 2017 together with the 54th Dies Natalis of IPB which was inaugurated by the Rector of IPB, Prof.Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto. Going down the village was done every Saturday and Sunday during September and located in the villages of Bogor area.
The activities undertaken during down the village were adjusted according to the expertise of each Student Organization (Ormawa). Down the village activities were also conducted in Elementary School (SD) in the 17 villages / kelurahan around the campus.
The closing of this series of GMTD coincided with Hari Tani / Day of Farmer on 24 September 2017 in Audit Sylva Pertamina. In this event, we invited all Ormawa in IPB and packed with talkshows from the alumni who had long moved in the social field, among them Tatiek Kancaniati from the business kampong of Tegal Waru, and Pauzi, the chairman of Community Development, Alumni Association of IPB of DPC Bogor District.
“The existence of this activity indicates that the student movement is not only vertical, but it is also horizontal through the direct plunge into the community,” said the Minister of Social and Community Development of BEM of KM of IPB, Rahardian Okta Pratama.***
