Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relations (DPKHA), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) again held the career debriefing for the graduates of Diploma Program of IPB. The event was held in Grha Widya Wisuda (GWW), Campus of IPB Dramaga, Bogor (6/11).

Head of Sub Directorate of Student Career Development of DPKHA of IPB, Dr. Anuraga Jayanegara, congratulated the graduates after experiencing a long process of education for three years. “This is the first step to success. When many students are guided by the lecturers, in the future they should be more independent,” said Dr. Anuraga.

He added that for those who wanted to work, they could directly contact DPKHA of IPB, because currently there were approximately 400 companies which were open vacancies. While for those who wanted to entrepreneurship, they could. Currently, there were five percent of the entrepreneurial graduates of IPB. 

On this occasion, presented the resource person, Director of PT. Swen Inovasi Transfer, Sri Wahyuni, MP. She motivated the students with the stories that she pioneered from scratch. She conveyed how she had to go to school by walking for miles in Buru region. When SMP, she rode a bicylce to her school which was 16 kilometers away. Furthermore, when at the bench of Sekolah Pertanian Menengah Atas (SPMA), she had to cross the island to Ambon. She was also ever singing from Kampong Rambutan to Baranangsiang Bogor.

She told the story of her survival struggle to become the Director of PT. Swen Inovasi Transfer. While studying in Diploma of IPB, she also worked to meet the needs of life because the cost given by her parents was just enough to pay the tuition.

Until now, PT. Swen Inovasi which was engaged in the tools and manufacture of biogas had nearly 200 employees.  Besides leading the company, Sri Wahyuni was also a permanent lecturer in Pakuan University, and a guest lecturer in IPB. “In my office, there are six graduates of IPB,” she said.

Graduated from D3 of IPB, she continued to S1 Department of Agribusiness of IPB. Her goal was to create an independent village of food, energy, environmentally friendly, and sustainable.

Currently, she was believed to be an expert in the Ministry of Transmigration and Development of Disadvantaged Areas because of her work in building villages with biogas.

To the graduates of Diploma of IPB, she suggested to take a role in the development of Village Owned Enterprises / Badan Usaha Milik Desa (Bumdes). (dh)
