Delegates of IPB to PPO 2017 Brought Back Prestigious Trophies of the 2017 Plant Protection Olympiad

Four teams of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) had successfully managed to bring home the prestigious trophies of the 2017 Plant Protection Olympiad (PPO) event in Malang, held on 23 August 2017. Competition was organized by the Association of Plant Protection of the Faculty of Agriculture of Brawijaya University. The theme of the event was " Strategi Perlindungan Tanaman Menuju Pertanian Berkelanjutan (Strategy of Crop Protection Towards Sustainable Agriculture)". The competition held in PPO 2017 event were lomba cerdas cermat (LCC  meticulous contest) and essay contest.

IPB sent nine delegates who were divided into five teams. Three teams participated in the essay contest and two teams participated meticulous contest. The essay team consisted  of Warja Surya Atmaja, Noni Irnadianis, and Natassa Kusumawardany. The LCC 1 team consisted of Egi Surya Kelana, Raidi Rahman Moeis and Ahmad Yusuf Ibrahim, whereas the  the LCC 2 team consisted of Mitha Septiandari, Kholil Ma'ruf, and Dian Islamiah.

To win the four trophies was not easy process. As IPB teams must compete with other finalists of Universitas Brawijaya, Gadjah Mada University, and Hasanudin University.

"Thank God it was really great to be a member of IPB delegates in the PPO 2017 event and successfully brought home four trophies of the event. The competition convinced us that IPB is one of the best universities in Indonesia. Therefore, do not fear failure,  some of the best answers will be personal achievements, "said Egi, Chairman of IPB Delegation.

In addition to the various competition,  the 2017 PPO also organized international conferences with the theme "International Conference on Food Crops and Environment 2017". The event was attended by finalists, lecturers, invited guests from several countries, and general students. (Wied)
