Thousands of High School Students Visited Edu Expo 2017 of IPB

Approximately 1,700  students of 12th grade of High School / MA (Madrasah Aliyah Islamic Senior High School) attended Educational Expo 2017 organized by Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), on Saturday, 30 September 2017. The event was organized in the framework of 54th Anniversary of IPB, and was carried out at Grha Widya Wisuda (GWW), IPB Campus, Dramaga, Bogor.

Head of Promotion of Legal Bureau of the Promotion and Public Relations (Biro  HPH) of IPB, Dr. drh. Fahrudin, expressed his warm welcome to high school students in Jabodetabek. "Through Educational Expo 2017, we are ready to provide the first information on the life in IPB. We’ll provide guidance. Let us promote the agricultural disciplines offered by our Faculties of IPB. We are ready to produce reliable young generation of Indonesia, "he said.

Secretary of Institute (SI) of IPB, Dr. Ibnul Qayim, in his Opeing Remarks when he officially opened the event stated that students who attended this special opportunity were the best students who will become members the big family of IPB in the batch of students, the 55th Batch. The straightforward utterances in crowd scenes “aamiin” were echoed from the participants who attended. "Regarding the opportunity to be admitted into IPB, the university applies some admission systems for recruiting its new incoming students. Just like the many roads leading to Rome, "he said.

Items of Program planned for this special event were recitation of the Qur'an by the winner of MTQ championship for students, keroncong by students, musical performances by SME Maxx, dances by SME Gentra Kaheman, interactive talkshow by IPB successful alumni, and bazaar on GWW Fields.

The Counseling and Guidance of Teacher of SMA Negeri 5 Bogor, Mr.Juri, brought the top ten students with him to the Epo. He understood well that these ten students are very interested in IPB.

While Ira from SMA Negeri 1 Leuwiliang, admitted that she is very interested in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of IPB, precisely the Department of Meteorology and Geophysics. She is very confident in her choice, including prospects of career and opportunities in meteorology and geophysics field.

The campus tour to promote the life in each Department of the Faculty for the participants was guided by the Institute's Ambassador. (Wied)
