The Six Prospective Rectors of IPB Were Elected

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) again held the election of its rector for the period 2017-2022. Following the signing of integrity facts by 24 Candidate of Rectors (BCR) on 30 August 2017, the ad hoc committee conducted its BCR assessment. Then, the Academic Senate (SA) of IPB conducted a Plenary Session to determine the six BCRs in a transparent manner. The Plenary Session of the six BCR was held in Senate Meeting Room, Dramaga Campus of IPB, on 27 September 2017.

Chairman of SA of IPB, Prof. Dr. Tridoyo Kusumastanto, stated that both SA and the Board of Trustees (MWA) of IPB have been  given the authority as stated in Statute of IPB to select 24 BCR into 6 BCR.

"Today we have started a highly transparent and accountable process with the Scientific Justification approach of the ad hoc committee. Then he delivered the qualitatively and quantitatively values as proposed by members of the Academic Senate IPB, "said Prof. Tridoyo.

The names of the six Candidate Rectors in alphabetical order, are as follows :

1.       Dr. Agus Purwito

2.       Dr. Arif Satria

3.       Prof. Dr. Hermanto Siregar

4.       Prof. Dr. Luky Abdullah

5.       Prof. Dr. M. Yusram Massijaya

6.       Prof. Dr. Yonny Koesmaryono

The six candidates have undergone through assessment and competitive selection processes of the 24 Candidate of Rectors. Six selected candidates then must go through the next stage of the selection process, and the plenary session then will be established to select  three out six candidates. During which, they have to compete again, one of the criteria will be their presentation on the IPB Strategic Plan in the framework of IPB to Techno Socio Entrepreneur University 2045. As candidate of IPB Rector, he must understand the steps to taken and they have to express their ideas in papers and will be tested by all members of the Academic Senate. Based on their presentation, then the SA will decide the three qualified rector candidates (CR) and their names will be submitted to the MWA to be elected as a rector, who is selected by the communities of IPB and its alumni.
