Teten Masduki Motivated Students of IPB
The Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Teten Masduki, motivated students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) to run their own business. "We must continue to produce new entrepreneurs. Indicators of economic progress of a country is increasing the number of entrepreneurs and innovators, "he said.
Teten said that in the Entrepreneur Wanted (EW) event was carried out by the Special Staff of the Presidency, and was supported by IPB; Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti); Telkom Indonesia and Liputan 6. The event was implemented at Auditorium Andi Hakim Nasoetion, IPB Campus, Dramaga, on Tuesday, 3 October 2017.
This present event is the 6th inspiration of its kind, and similar inspiration classes were organized previously in Padang, Surabaya, Jogyakarta, Bali and Padang. This program has been packed with the theme "Wirausahawan Terbaik Berbagi untuk Penerus Republik (the Best Entrepreneur Sharing for the Successor of the Republic)".
Teten stated that in 2045 Indonesia has great economic potential to beat the middle income trap and make that jump to a developed economy. This process will depend on the millenial generation that will dominate all sectors in the future. The growing of the business potential sector is very dependable on the innovator and entrepreneur, how innovation can make entrepreneurs.
Yet, Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, stated that the event was really an important event, promoting the future of Indonesia. "Thanks to the presence of key figures in the implementation of various breakthroughs in the government. Thanks for the support especially to encourage students. In the last decades IPB has been struggling for the agricultural development, resulting in innovations achievement. Within the ten consequtive years IPB has produced plenty of innovative works, the Institute contributed around 38.9 percent of the national innovative works, "said Rector.
However, the rector said, innovation should not stop in the list, need to be delivered to the community, increase the added value, create new jobs. IPB is the most highly commercialized patent producers. In the year 2017 in Hari Kebangkitan Teknologi Nasional (HARTEKNAS National Technology Awakening Day), IPB was rank as the 1st for the Anugerah Widyapadhi.
"It's all meaningless if students are not interested in becoming entrepreneurs, not being delivered by alumni, and stakeholders who love farming. Hopefully the students of IPB learn a lot from the sources, really become the troops that advance the nation, "he said.
Chairman of PT. Gunung Sewu Kencana, Husodo Anggosubroto, in his sharing stated that the spirit of entrepreneurship is important. Although he inherited of the family-owned company, but if he doesn’t have innovation and entrepreneurship spirit, then the company will not grow. Husodo is the owner the business groups approximately equivalent to Rp 20.5 trillion.
Meanwhile, CEO & Co Founder of TaniHub & TaniFund, Ivan Arie, told students to try something new in their business. one of the biggest fears people have in their lives is failure. "Do not be afraid to fail, be the first actor/agent to do," he said. (Wied)
