The Diploma Program of IPB is Ready to Organize Vocational Education Week of Indonesia

Vocational Higher Education Forum (FPTVI) will organize Vision Education Week 2017, on 11-13 October 2017, at Bogor Agriculture University (IPB) and IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor. The Directorate of Diploma Program of IPB will be the host for the various program planned for the scientific meeting, which will cover the 4th Congress of FPTVI; 1st International Conference on Applied Science for Food and Energy Sovereignty; Vocational Student Scientific Olympiad Indonesia; and Indonesia Vokasi Innovation 2017.

The items of the programme planned, among other on 20 September 2017 the Pre-IV Congress was implemented in the Executive Lounge of the Diploma Program of IPB. Other special guests invited for the Pre-IV Congress among others were Supervisors and Administrators of FPTVI, Ir. Hotma Prawoto Sulistyadi; MS., IP.MD. (UGM); Dr. D. Iwan Riswandi (IPB); Prof. Dr. Sigit P. Hadiwardoyo (UI); Dr. Wawan Oktariza (IPB); Muh. Khairudin, Ph.D. (UNY); Dr. Antony Sihombing (UI); Mohammad Ridha, S.Sos., M.Sc. (UI); Arman Faslih, ST, MT (UHO); Dr. Machsus (ITS); Janny F. Abidin, M.T. (STTNAS); Prof. Dr. Retna Apsari (UNAIR); Ir. Ari Wahyudi, M.T. (UB).

FPTVI Chairman, Sigit, said that the Pre-Congress has discussed the readiness of congress implementation and current issues related to the development of Vocational Higher Education. In particular, the purpose of this Pre-Congress organization is to evaluate the previous congress, to look at the upcoming congress preparations and prepare the topics to be discussed with the board.

Furthermore Sigit said that currently Indonesia needs professional personnel, who are  expert in their related fields. Vocational graduates are trained to be competitive workforces supported by certificates and certification of competence from the colleges where they study. The certificate of competence becomes the control of the global employment markets  in accordance with the applicable skills and curriculum. Certification has been applied in several universities such as IPB, UGM, and UI. This certification is also expected to be applied in all universities with Diploma level education in Indonesia to be more equitable. To support and produce the best graduates, the teaching team should be equipped by the  internship  training to improve their professional performance of the  quality of teaching teams.

It is expected that Pre-IV Congress will be the forum to create vocational education to established with reference to the related laws/regulations, to developing human resources for international standards, so there won’t be foreign experts recruited in their respective fields, be the host for our own house.  In previous congresses we have always carried out  introspection is the extent to which the curriculum is applied so as to achieve the expected goals.

Technically, the  Vocational Education Week of Indonesia (PPVI) will last for three days. The first day, 11 October 2017, will be the IV FPTVI Congress, to be carried out in  the IICC. The second day, 12 October 2017, will be the "1st International Conference on Applied Science for Food and Energy Sovereignty", to be carried out in the  IICC. In addition, concurrently on the same day the Vocational Student Scientific Olympiad will also be carried out, to be held in Cilibende Campus of IPB Diploma Program. While for the Innovation of Indonesian Vocational will be implemented on 12-13 October 2017. This event will be held  at IPB Campus, Baranangsiang, Bogor.
