Lecturer of the Department of Agricultural Industrial Technology (TIN) of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology Bogor Agricultural University (FATETA IPB), Dr. Faqih Udin, had been carried out his research project from 1980 to 2014. His Research and his innovative work was on the utilization of industrial technology for the management of agricultural products.

The gentleman who was born in Pekalongan, Central Java, had been concerned, as the unexpected rains that lashed a large part of Sukabumi caused farmers in this areas lost their nutmeg candies production. Coupled with the emergence of news that the nutmegs had decomposed a lot due to prolonged rain, cause worse situation for farmers. Seeing the condition, finally in 1999, Faqih his friends familiar with, created innovative design on candied nutmeg dryer prototype.

In essence, the concept of innovation is a blend of greenhouse effect with the help of wind gusts. The tile had been the start of candied nutmeg processes, as it had been place for pulping before they were dried up in certain locations (under the sun) and the temperature was set to 36 degrees Celsius. Design of nutmeg-based dried greenhouse effect is intended to make candied nutmeg products safe from dust and insects. The drying mechanism needs hot air so that the air flow system increased the temperature into the required heat.

In addition to creating innovative work, the lecturer of IPB graduate has been  active in various organizations. In 2003, he was elected as the Secretary at the Center for Regional Development, of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of IPB; and member of Indonesian Agroindustry Association (AGRIN) in 2005. Recently, the lecturer who was born in 1958 has been promoted to the rank of Lektor.

"One word for the advancement of Indonesian agriculture is 'seed'. Since seeds are an agricultural object, humans are only central to natural resource management. If the seeds are better quliaty, then agriculture will go forward and grow, "Faqih said. Therefore, he expected that  the government will provide quality seeds for farmers, so that the quality and agricultural production can be controlled. (Wied)
