The Student of IPB s Won n the Young Researchers Category in the Islamic Economic Essays Competition

The student of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Bogor Agricultural University (FEM IPB), Hasan Azzahid, won the Young Researchers Category in the Scientific Research Competition organized by the XV Forum Riset Ekonomi dan Keuangan Syariah (FREKS The Syariah Economic and Financial Research Forum) in 2016. The event was carried out in Mataram, in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), IAEI, and the University of Mataram. The theme event, which was held at the end of 2016, was "Elevating the Uniqueness of Sharia Finance in  a Competition Era of Competitive Financial Services Industry".

Hasan focused his project on sharia banking financial institutions for his paper and won the Young Researchers Category. The ideas  that inspired Hasan was the model development of the theory of banking credit system. According to his research, there was an influence between credit and banking performance. Hasan developed an economic model to specify the credit distribution provided by the bank in accordance with the economic sectors.

As one of winners in the competition, Hasan expected that of the theory model he developed will beneficial for the communities at large. Hasan’ work presented methods for banks to assess credits sector which are risky to the stability of bank performance. In his research he found out the percentage amount of bad loans in the bank, stage by stage within the first two months up to the final stage. His scientific work was based on his observation on sharia banking statistics.

As winner on this prestigious competition, Hasan Azzahid's had been entitled to be published his work in FREKS Publication with ISBN together other winners.  By winning the competition he has managed to compete with the other five finalists in the same category. (Wied)
