The Archivist of Indonesia for the Year 2017 is from IPB
Archivist of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Ir. Setyo Edy Susanto, M.Pd, successfully won the First Winner in the National Archives Selection of the Year 2017. He succeeded to defeat other 31 archivists of Indonesia. In 2016 Edi was named as the third winner of the National Archives Selection.
Selection of National Archives of National 2017 is a champion for the category of expertise, and was participated by 32 archivists. For skilled category was participated by 34 archivists, non-civil servant category of BUMN / D was participated by 8 archivists. Thus, total 74 archivists from all over Indonesia participated in the national competition. The awards ceremony was held by the Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform, Asman Abnur, at Mercure Hotel, Ancol, Jakarta, on 17 August 2017.
Ir. Setyo Edy Susanto, M.Pd is a proficient and active in professional organization of archives. Currently, he is now the Deputy Secretary General of the Indonesian Archivist Association (AAI). He thought that this competition as a necessity for self-development and enhances the creativity of the archives. In addition, it is his obligation to improve his self-competence, as well as to improve the relationship between archivists at the national level.
Edi admitted that he always prepares everything neatly, ranging from preparing creative and innovative works to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of archive management, to apply his experiences he got for the Archives Unit of IPB. One of his important assignments, he has never forget preparing job report or filled out the log books of archive, work according to the archive priority. Creativity and activities were then expressed in his paper presented in the National Archives Selection 2017.
I have established and maintained good work relationships for the Archives Development Program of the National Archives of Indonesia, as well as with fellow archivists in Indonesia," he said. Currently Edy serves as the Head of Archive Services and Development of Archive Unit of IPB.
Edi is the initiator for four (4) national Whatsapp group of archive, namely Archive Forum (FK) of Higher Education, Forum of Local Government Archives, Archives Forum BUMN / D, and Forum Archives Ministry / institution. Through the communication network he has built, he was often invited as a resource person in several events in several places, such as in Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Lampung State University, Lampung State Institute of Islamic Studies, Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Kesatuan, and Archives Institution of Bogor Regency.
In National Archives Selection of the Year 2017, 2nd place was won by Universitas Gadjah Mada; 3rd place was won by Ministry of Forestry and Environment; 1st championship hopes was won by Universitas Padjadjaran; and the 2nd championship hopes was won by the State Secretariat. (Wied)
