IPB Accepts Students who are Hafiz in al-Quran

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) offers opportunity for new students of 2017-2018 academic year who have the ability to memorize the Quran or Hafiz Al-Quran. IPB accepts Hafiz Al-Quran through the Selection of International and National Achievement (PIN). This was expressed by Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto in Darmaga Campus of IPB Bogor (4/4).

Vice Rector Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Yonny Koesmaryono said that applicants should follow the procedures and selection of new student admission implemented by IPB.

Through the Selection of International and National Achievement, student candidates who have memorized 30 chapters of the Holy Quran will be considered as having an achievement equivalent that of international Olympiad, those who can memorize from the minimum of 15 chapters to 29 chapters will be viewed as having an achievement in the National Olympiad.

"Prospective students who apply through this selection must show valid proof as Hafiz from a trustworthy institution and be willing to be verified for their memory. This program applies to all study programs," said Prof. Yonny.

The International and National Achievement-Based Selection (PIN) has been held since 1974 under the term called “Jalur Finalis Lomba Karya Ilmiah” (Scientific Work Finalist Route). In 2000, it was changed to PIN as it is known today. This provides an opportunity for outstanding high school graduates with excellent extracurricular activities, including Hafiz al-Quran, to study at IPB to devlop their attitude, behavior and knowledge optimally.
