Hundreds of Posdaya Activists Studied in Kampus Desa / Village Campus

At least of 100 activists of the Family Empowerment Post (Posdaya) of Bogor City and District followed the ‘lecture’ in the program of Kampus Desa / Village Campus, Saturday (8/4), located in Mosque of Al-Ihsan of RT.3 RW.12, Kelurahan Bubulak, West Bogor Sub-district, Bogor City. Kampus Desa / Village Campus was the science and technology transfer program to the community initiated by the Human Resource Development Center (P2SDM), Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), Bogor Agricultural University. Kampus Desa / Village Campus also became one of the application media of the research results of IPB to the community carried from village to village in turns according to the readiness of the village to become the host. So far, there were 100 villages/kelurahan that became the targets of the program of Kampus Desa / Village Campus.

In organizing the 8th Kampus Desa / Village Campus this time, the participants received the lecture material on “Penanggulangan Sampah Plastik dan Pengelolaan Sampah Mandiri oleh Masyarakat / Plastic Waste Management and Waste Management Independently by the Community”. Acting as the resource person was Budi Raharjo from the Team of Kelompok Swadaya Masyarakat / Community Self-Help Group (KSM) of Asri of Kelurahan Bubulak. After the presentation and the question and answer, the participants conducted the field visit, namely to review the handling of household waste, to review the hydroponic as a part of the waste management, as well as to review the house of the waste processing, the composting and the biogas.

On this occasion, it was also conducted the program socialization of “Lumbung Pangan Posdaya / Food Barn of Posdaya” by the researcher of P2SDM of LPPM of IPB, Ir. Yannefri Bachtiar, M.Si. The Program of Food Barn of Posdaya was the community movement to achieve the food security in the community through the action of the mutual help of the residents in order to help ensure the fulfillment of the basic needs (rice) of all residents in the area of Posdaya. Yannefri affirmed, the program which would soon be launching indirectly had supported the food security program which had been encouraged by the government. 

 The technical implementation of the Food Barn Program of Posdaya:

  1. The source of rice of the Food Barn came from the donors/local residents.
  2. The total donation in form of rice could be suited with the wish of donor.
  3. The rice would be picked up in the beginning of each month by the youth of Posdaya to the home of donor by setting the responsibility in each RT / Neighborhood Association.
  4. Families who were in "emergency” / difficult to meet the needs of rice, would be supplied by the Food Barn with the recommendation of the Head of RT.***
