IPB Host the Workshop on Veterinary of Indonesia and Japan
Faculty of Veterinary (FKH) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) had the opportunity to be the host in the event of the workshop of collaboration between Indonesia and Japan. The workshop titled “The 1st International Symposium in Veterinary Science: Strengthening The Collaboration between Indonesia and Japanese Veterinary School” followed by the leaders of three universities in Japan and eleven universities in Indonesia. The event was held in the Faculty of Veterinary, Campus of IPB Darmaga, Bogor (19-20/1).
Dean of FKH of IPB, Prof.Dr. Srihadi Agung Priyono, conveyed that this workshop was held to strengthen the networking. He said, the cooperation between country was important to do especially Japan which was the developed country that its research capabilities would have been better. “Therefore, IPB feels the need to cooperate with the universties in Japan, related to the research and education,” he said.
He said, the veterinary science was expanding the realm of the work, especially in terms of the issues of the transmission of animal diseases to humans such as anthrax and avian flu. Therefore, the issue of the transmission of animal diseases to humans needed to be taken seriously by FKH.
Three universities of Japan were Yamaguchi University, Kagoshima University and Tottori University. Meanwhile, eleven universities of Indonesia were IPB, Universitas Syah Kuala, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Udayana, Universitas Hasanuddin, Universitas Nusa Cendana, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Wijaya Kusuma, Universitas Nusa Tenggara Barat and Universitas Padjajaran.
In the workshop that was held for two days was an opportunity to share the latest scientific related to the world of the veterinary. Of 107 of the research results were presented. The event was opened by the Vice Rector of the Research and Cooperation of IPB, Prof.Dr. Anas Miftah Fauzi. (dh)
