IPB Cooperation with Government of West Sumatra Province

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) together with the Governor of West Sumatra, Chairman of the Alumni Association of Minang Students and University Students (PAPMM) of Bogor and Chairman of the Alumni Association (HA) IPB DPD of West Sumatra signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which was held in Gaharu Room, Taman Kencana, campus of IPB Bogor, on Tuesday (10/1).

Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto said this is an appropriate model of cooperation. "In addition to the Government of West Sumatra Province, the cooperation also involves Alumni Associations so that it can safeguarded. With this MoU we can move far more progressively. Changes must be guarded on the basis of science," he said.

West Sumatra Governor, Prof. Dr. Irwan Prayitno expressed his desire to apply the resulted IPB innovative works in West Sumatra. He told that approximately 52 percent of West Sumatra people work in the agricultural sector. "We focus on farming. Studies are needed in any field to raise revenue for the welfare of West Sumatra communities," he said. (Mtd)
