Agrianita of Institut Pertanian Bogor Organized the Health Seminar
To commemorate Kartini Day on 21st April 2016, Agrianita of Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB Bogor Agricultural University) organized the health seminar on "Sayangi Keluarga, Kenali Kesehatan Reproduksi Sejak Dini = Love Your Family, Recognize the Early Reproductive Health", at the Auditorium Andi Hakim Nasution, Kampus IPB, Dramaga, Bogor. The seminar invited the Director of Mental Health Prevention and Control and Drug Issues, Ministry of Health, Dr.dr.Fidiansjah, Sp.KJ, MPH, and Chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood Bogor, Dra. Euis Sufi Jatiningsih.
Dr. Fidiansjah stated that human reproduction is heterosexual. Heterosexuality is romantic attraction, sexual attraction or sexual behavior between persons of the opposite sex or gender. Thus, family members with same-sex may be defined as homosexual, and homosexuality is an aberration of nature. "There is strong prejudice in the community that homosexuality is a disease and that it can be cured by some sort of reorientation therapy," he said.
He added in a scientific argument that homosexuality is a type of deviation, a type of irregularity. In addition, it is also similar to other type of sexual irregularities such as incest, or pedofillia, kleptomania, vayourisme, psychopaths, and so on.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Mrs. Meitrisia Kudang, stated that the program was planned to provide the opportunity for present Kartini to develop themselves, doing hard-works to improve their knowledge but remain in good health, they will be beneficial for their families.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Agrianita of IPB, Mrs. Enny Suhardiyanto, stated the awareness and knowledge of the communities on the sexually transmitted diseases are relatively low, therefore it is important for them to improve their medical knowledge and psychological fully. "Hopefully the seminar will help them to improve their knowledge and experiences as to determine the attitudes and behavior that can be accounted for," she said.
Rector Prof. Herry Suhardiyanto appealed to all the audiences who present the seminar to interpret Kartini Day as to expand scientific knowledge. "Science will guide you through the darkness. All differences of opinion and views can be solved by science, "he said. (Wied)
