Rector of Taman Siswa University Padang: Posdaya Developed by IPB – Inspiring

Human Resource Development Centre (P2SDM) of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), together with Damandiri Foundation again received the Family Empowerment Post (Posdaya) group of 87th Observation Study Tour (OST), Saturday (9/1). This OST involved some universities and Regional Working Units (SKPD).
 
They include Wage Rudolf Supratman University of Surabaya, PGRI Teachers’ Training College of Madiun, Taman Siswa University of Padang, Muhammadiyah University of Gresik, Nahdlatul Ulama University of Sidoarjo, Panca Marga University of Probolinggo, and Ganesha Polytechnic of Medan. Meanwhile SKPD involves the municipalities and regencies of Madiun, Magetan, Ngawi, and Solok.
 
The 87th OST was conducted in two places, namely Integrated Independent Posdaya in Cikarawang Village, Dramaga District of Bogor Regency and Posdaya Gunung Jati Kertamaya Bogor. In the two Posdaya, the OST group visited the Early Childhood Education (ECD), Posyandu (Integrated Service Post), Posbindu Elderly, Family Planning Post, Waste Bank, Family Medicinal Plants and Nutritional Gardens (Togabuzi), garden of crystal guava, and the production of cassava chips.
 
Rector of Taman Siswa University of Padang, Dr. Irwandi Sulin said the activities at Posdaya visited are quite interesting, inspiring, innovative and compact. "In general, they are already advanced in the development of the concept of pre-prosperous families to become self-sufficient prosperous family. Thus, we should follow the example of the system and cooperation programs introduced by IPB. From this observation, we can hopefully implement and take the lessons to be applied in each college," he said.
 
Researchers of P2SDM-LPPM of IPB, Ir. Yannefri Bachtiar, M.Si said Posdaya development around the campus takes five patterns, namely through Real Work Experience (KKN), Friday Tours (Jumling), research, social assistance, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) cooperation. (Mtd)
