Training and Workshop on Scientific Writing
Department of Marine Science and Technology (ITK), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held a training and workshop on writing scientific papers for international and national scientific journals accredited by LIPI and Higher Education, (19/11) at the discussion meeting room of Department of ITK. This activity is the result of cooperation between ITK Department and Journal of Tropical Marine Science and Technology (JITKT) as well as Directorate of Research and Innovation IPB. Participants include lecturers and graduate students of IPB, especially at FPIK of IPB.
Chairman of the executive committee, Bisman Nababan, Ph.D., says that one of the factors behind the implementation of this training and workshop is the low level of acceptance of papers that come to JITKT (accredited by Higher Education and LIPI). He explained that competition for paper acceptance by JITKT is very tight as only about 50 percent of the incoming paper. Of the number received, almost 80 percent after review must undertake major revisions.
The event was opened by Head of the Department of ITK, Dr. I Wayan Nurjaya. In his speech Dr. Wayan said that training is very important because it deals with the publication strategy that is needed by graduate students to complete the study. "Competition and publication level is increasing, so strategies and knowledge are required to be able to publish research in journals nationally or internationally accredited," said Head of Study Program with Achievement of National Level 2015.
Two speakers were invited, namely Dr. Anuraga Jayanegara and Dr. Bisman Nababan. The first speaker focused on the strategies and techniques of writing scientific papers for international scientific journals. The second speaker focused on the strategies and techniques of writing scientific papers for national scientific journals accredited Higher Education and LIPI. Discussion and assistance specifically for those with papers already prepared was also provided in this event. *** (Mtd)
