Minister of Agriculture Enlivening Fruit and Flower Carnival of the Archipelago

Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, Amran Sulaiman took part enlivening the Fruit and Flower Carnival of the Archipelago, walking in the carnival party. This festive carnival was attended by thousands of participants, ten decorated vehicles, six groups of marching bands, 55 property shows and costumes of various municipalities, offices and students. It started from Baranang Siang Campus of Bogor Agricultural University, with the route of Padjadjaran Street, Sempur Square, City Hall, SMPN 1 Bogor, Bogor Market, Tugu Kujang, and ending up back at Baranang campus of IPB.
 
"Next year the Ministry of Agriculture will fully support the Fruit and Flower Festival of Nusantara or Archipelago (FBBN). We hope that in the future Indonesia should be the determinant of the export and import price of the world tropical fruit. We must be able to reduce imports and increase exports of fruit," said Minister of Agriculture in his speech.
 
The same view is also expressed by Mayor of Bogor, Dr. Bima Arya, who also fully supports this activity with the idea of scaling up FBBN to become an international event. Dr. Bima Arya also wanst to make FBBN the icon Bogor. "I hope that similar events can also come up in the coming years and become the icon of Bogor City. Even if possible, it can be scaled up internationally," he said.
 
On the same occasion, IPB Rector, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc invited people to love fruit and flowers of the archipelago by producing and consuming fruits and flowers locally produced. Also in this event was the declaration of archipelago fruit commitment led by the Minister of Agriculture. FBBN is an annual event held by IPB with the objective to facilitate and promote the fruits and flowers of archipelago. Like the previous years, this series of festival activities is ended with Flower and Fruit of the Archipelago Carnival. (Mtd)
