Indonesian Oil Palm Community (Maksi) held the National Seminar and Congress 2015 with the theme of "Sawit untuk Kesejahteraan dan Kelestarian Lingkungan / Oil Palm for Welfare and Enviromental Sustainability", Thursday (7/12), in Audience Hall of Abdul Muis Nasoetion, Faculty of Agricultural Technology (Fateta), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). The activity was attended by about 150 participants, with the resource persons among others Yudha Moelyo of Fund Management Agency of Oil Palm Plantation (BPDP), Teguh Patriawan of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Derom Bangun of Indonesian Palm Oil Board (DMSI), and Togar Sitanggang of Indonesian Oil Palm Entrepreneurs Association (GAPKI)
 
Chairman of the committee, Prof.Dr. Muh. Yusram Massijaya, conveyed, “This activity aims to facilitate all stakeholders of oil palm to cooperate well related to the development of oil palm which is so big in Indonesia”. He added, as many as 50 research results originating from various institutions, both from government and private, were presented in this seminar.
 
General Chairman of Maksi, Dr. Darmono Taniwiryono, said, “Through this opportunity we make more advanced changes to finalize the organization of oil palm in the beneficial activities for the development of oil palm industry in Indonesia. In the eyes of the international world, the development of oil palm industry in Indonesia is more advanced and skyrocketing, with the support of of oil palm plantation innovation that can enhance the global competitiveness”.
 
Meanwhile, Rector of IPB, Prof.Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, said, “IPB will continue to support the activities of Maksi. Hopefully, Maksi increases both developed and developing to make a major contribution to the Indonesian people to be more prosperous”. 
 
On this occasion, the Rector requested that in this seminar they can formulate one approach that was fundamental and concrete on how to support the implementation of renewable energy, which should be developed to meet the energy needs in Indonesia.
 
Meanwhile, in the congress of Maksi, they re-elected Dr. Darmono Taniwiryono as the General Chairman of MAKSI for the period of 2015-2018. (Awl)
