IPB Rector Dispatches MTQ (Quran Recitation Competition) Team of IPB Students

Rector of Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) Prof. Dr Herry Suhardiyanto releases 28 students of IPB’s Musabaqah Tilawatil Quran (MTQ) to take part in the National Student MTQ (MTQNM) XIV at the University of Indonesia (UI) in Jakarta. The dispatch took place in the Rector meeting room of Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, Darmaga campus, Bogor, Friday (31/7). MTQNM, lasting on 1-8 August 2015, involves 2,500 participants from 186 state and private universities in Indonesia.

 

Rector said, "Make this contest as an experience to improve knowledge and science. The participation of IPB’s students in the MTQ IPB at the national level directly builds pride for IPB ".

 

MTQ Coach of IPB students, Dr. Hamzah said this team will participate in 13 contested categories; namely, Musabaqoh Fahmil Quran; Qiraat sab’ah; Tilawatil Quran; Hifzil Quran of 1 chapters, 5 chapters, and 10 chapters; Fahmil Quran; Syarhil Quran; Khathil Quran; Tartil Quran; Writing works of the Quran; Quiz; Scientific English debate on the Quran content; Scientific Arabic debate on the Quran content; and Musabaqah Computer Design Applications of Quran.

 

"We hope that all participants will do all their best so that they can achieve the feat at the triennial event. Through MTQ it is expected that the students will be more intelligent and have greater fear of Allah, and have noble personality and character. There is hope that this kind of contest to continue every year so that students are motivated by Islamic values. Hopefully the teams can go home with achievement and bring the good reputation of IPB," said Dr Hamzah. (Mtd)
