Dragon Fruit Entrepreneur Training for Overcoming the AEC 2015
Faculty of Agriculture of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relation (DPKHA) of IPB, Alumni Association (IKA) of the Faculty of Agriculture of IPB, and Sabisa Farm organized the event of Dragon Fruit Entreprenuer Training for Overcoming the Asian Economic Community (AEC) 2015 from Zero to Hero Session 2 (18/10).
The training was held in the Experiment Garden of IPB Sindang Barang, Bogor. This event aimed at forming the program of entrepreneurship building in the field of agriculture to grow the interest in entrepreneurship. The activity was opened symbolically by Dean of Faculty of Agriculture of IPB, Dr. Ir. Ernan Rustiadi, M.Agr with the dragon fruit cutting.
Director of Sabisa Farm, Sutarjo, S.P in the first session stated, “The abbreviation of Sabisa Farm is Sarana Belajar Petani Muda Sarjana / Means for Learning of Bachelor Young Farmers. We have seven retainers of Sabisa Farm. However, we are supported by the Faculty of Agriculture, DPKHA, IKA of Faculty of Agriculture, and Sabila Farm. Hopefully, after the holding of this activity the farmer entrepreneurs who defend the agriculture in Indonesia are born. Hopefully my friends can benefit from this activity."
Director of DPKHA of IPB, Dr. Ir. Syarifah Iis Aisyah, M.Sc. Agr, stated, "By convening this activity, we want to generate the mindset of the students to become the reliable entrepreneur. Our task in DPKHA is to facilitate and make the traning for new graduates of IPB to reach for their ideals in the working world. We want to produce more from IPB. I want in the AEC 2015 you all do not compete to prepare the proposal for making the job application. But having own business in order to be ready to compete when the food agricultural business is needed. This is predicted to be very much infatuated in 2030-2050,” said Dr. Syarifah.
“Welcome to the training participants done in this Sabisa Farm. Approximately we have been one and a half years to do the pioneering of the program of entrepreneur farmer building which is the term suggested by Ir. Gun Sutopo. The students of IPB who are joined together in this Sabisa Farm are challenged to finish all agricultural problems starting from the opening of the land to the post harvest, so they can become the strong entrepreneur farmers,” said Dean of Faculty of Agriculture of IPB, Dr. Ir. Ernan Rustiadi, M.Agr.
“The key from the countries which agriculture is in advance is the actors of the agriculture which are the entrepreneur farmers. Meanwhile, which is still constrained in our country is the condition of most of our farmers who become farmers because there is no better choice and is the hereditary inheritance. Indonesian people are still very few that become the farmers because of realizing the agricultural business which is promising and competitive. Here we conduct an approach and a different way of training to educate the students to be the entrepreneur farmers. Besides that, it is an honor because Ir. Gun Sutopo with his honesty and sincerety directly goes down to become the mentor in Sabisa Farm”, added Dr. Ernan.
Ir. Gun Sutopo in this occasion explained the material for entrepreneurship motivation with the editorial of From Zero to Hero. Ir. Gun gave an overview of becoming an entrepreneur, that had proved one of them was in this Sabisa Farm. “If you want to be an entrepreneur certainly you can. I will try in 45 minutes to make you the entrepreneur. In the enterpreneurship, we should have each character. We become the entrepreneur because our mind wants, followed by the words, actions, habits, until the character is born. In becoming the entrepreneur we must have the creation and innovation. Being able to produce something that is not there to be there," concluded Ir. Gun. (RF)
