Enthusiasm of Petir People Welcoming IPB’s Friday Tour
The Friday Tour, which is managed by the Institute for Research and Community Services (LPPM) IPB, has really been popular for 17 Villages around Campus. The arrival of IPB’s team always is anticipated and warmly welcomed by the community. The IPB team is also enthusiastic to be part of the community.
The portrait of kinship between the villagers and IPB came up during the Friday Tour at Petir Village, precisely in the People Meeting Room of Gang Pasundan, Kampong Tari Kolot RT 01 RW 02, Petir Village, Dramaga District, Friday (12/9).
This time, the IPB team was led by Dean of Faculty of Agricultural Technology (Fateta), Dr. Sam Herodian. They were greeted lively with Ketimpring. Ketimpring is an art group like qosidah (Islamic music) group. Consisting of housewives led by Mrs. Atik, it chanted Islamic songs.
The activities prepared by the Friday Tour team in Petir Village were community services, tauziah (religious messages) and donation to orphans, implementation reports, speeches (by Village Chief, District Head, and Dean), and a clean and healthy living movement led Dr.Koekoeh Santoso.
According to a local resident, Sutaryo, people are very happy with the presence of IPB, "I was this morning through the mosque microphone, announcing this program and thank God a lot of people are present."
Mrs. Iis mother, a seller of banana chips, aid she was happy because her merchandise was well sold. Like Mrs. Iis, Sukri of Neglasari village adjacent to Petir Village (where the Friday Tour is held), through the advertisement reporter, left a message for the team of Friday Tour of IPB, "My regard, please give to Mr. Awal and Mr. Endang. When is the Friday Tour in our village?" he asked.
In this Friday Tour, IPB gave aids in the form of fumigation or fogging equipment, sprayers for cattle shed sanitation, health equipment and materials for the renovation of Posyandu. Before leaving the site, the IPB’s team accompanied by local officials took the opportunity to visit the goat cage owned by a villager not far from the location of Friday Tour. (Mtd).
