Why SBY Studied in IPB?

The Senior High School (SMU) of Al Muttaqin, Tasikmalaya, visited IPB. The group was welcome by the Executive Secretary of IPB, Dr. Bonny PW Sukarno in the Auditorium of Andi Hakim Nasution, (9/1). The school headmaster, Drs.Jainal Al-Furqan told that the visit to IPB was to find out more about the education at the State University.  He hopes that through this visit, the students will become more motivated to take further studies and get an idea about the college they will enter. "Especially after watching the film show about IPB, students can have more knowledge and it turns out that by taking studies in IPB, we can learn about technology and innovation that are essential for food security in Indonesia," he said.

During the visit, a good answer was given by one high school student of SMU Al-MUT, Aprilia Utami when a resource person of IPB, Siti Nuryati, STP.Msi, asked the question "Why did Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono choose IPB as the university where he took his doctoral degree? Aprilia answered that the president was fully aware that Indonesia’s natural resource is of great potential. IPB is the right place to study the sciences to develop the highly potential nature. (Mtd)
