Posdaya (Family Empowerment Post) of Purwasari Receives Arrival of Officials from Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan

About 40 officials of Regional Working Unit (SKPD) district along with District Chief in the Regency of Ogan Komering Ulu Selatan, South Sumatra Province learns from Posdaya Fajar Harapan  in the village of Purwasari, Darmaga District of Bogor Regency. Earlier, the group was received in the Meeting Room of the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) IPB, Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building Campus Darmaga of IPB(18/9). Posdaya Dawn Hope is one Posdaya built IPB.

Posdaya itself is an effort to empower the community by synergizing various activities in the village (neighborhoods, groups of neighborhoods, villages/sub-districts). Through Posdaya, people are motivated to create new activities if no community empowerment activities are available yet, revive discontinued activities, improve the quality of existing activities and pioneer possible partnership opportunities.

"IPB has developed nearly 100 Posdayas in Bogor town, Regencies of Bogor, Cianjur and Sukabumi. IPB is the regional coordinator for 10 partner universities in developing Posdaya," said Head of the Center for Human Resource Development (P2SDM) IPB, Dr. Puji Mulyono in his speech.

This Posdaya, under the assistantship of IPB, is only four months old with its coordinator, Jejen Munjaeneri. Despite its young age, and thanks to the enthusiasm and cooperation of various groups in Purwasari village, it has been successful to a Posdaya with a complete rural development program in comparison with other Posdayas.

"This Posdaya originated from the Friday Tour (Jumling) program of IPB. When the Friday Tour was held in Purwasari village, we hoped to be able to develop a Posdaya in our village, Alhamdulillah (Thank God) on June 12, 2012, this Posdaya was formed. With this Posdaya, aspects of community life in economy, agriculture, livestock and fisheries are directed to improve the community welfare," said Jejen, who is an employee of IPB. According to him, through the development of Posdaya in his village, the motivation of mutual assistance to build the village of Purwasari is increasing. (Mtd)
